2016 Fundraising Goal for 2017 Scholarships Set at 165K

As 2015 came to a close, Targeting Excellence began looking forward to 2016 and setting new goals for the up-coming year. Through fund-raising efforts held in four states (Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania) in 2015, the organization will award $125,000 in scholarships in 2016 to students pursuing degrees in food animal agriculture.

For 2016, the Board of Directors has challenged everyone in the Targeting Excellence organization with a goal of raising enough funds to be able to award $165,000 in scholarships during 2017. To achieve this goal, every board and committee member will be “Focused on Feeding the Future” while putting together fund-raising events for their states. A second objective is to increase awareness about Targeting Excellence and the important role this organization plays in supporting today’s students who will become the industry’s leaders . This is an objective in which everyone earning a living from food animal agriculture should get involved. A third objective is to increase the number of states holding fund-raising events. For this to happen, we need volunteers. With the exception of one employee, the organization is comprised of 100% volunteers from the Board of Directors to the State Committees.
