College bound and current undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary students enrolled in a food animal agriculture curriculum at an institution that offers degrees in agriculture may apply for $177,000 in scholarships available from Targeting Excellence.
The 2016 North Carolina Targeting Excellence Sporting Clay Scholarship Classic has been postponed until November 17th, 2016. The ongoing situation in eastern NC and the struggles both by individuals and businesses alike have led the event committee to this decision.

Targeting Excellence would like to thank everyone who attended the 2nd annual Iowa Targeting Excellence Sporting Clay Scholarship Classic event. It was held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Targets on the Move in Ackley, IA. Approximately 90 people participated in the event including 6 students.
In May 2016, at the end of the 2016 spring semester, Targeting Excellence awarded $123,000 in combined scholarships to 58 students. The scholarships were awarded to students enrolled in two-year, four-year, graduate and veterinary programs with a focus on food animal agriculture.
Last month Targeting Excellence hosted a Pizza night to honor the 2015 North Carolina scholarship winners. The event was held at Amadeo’s Pizza in Raleigh, NC. The Targeting Excellence Scholarship Review Committee has been working hard over the last few weeks to review all the applications we received for the 2016 awards. We were initially scheduled to contact the winners today, however, due to the high number of qualified applicants we need a few more days to finalize our selections. We now plan to notify the winners on May 16th, 2016.
Targeting Excellence held its first Ohio committee meeting during the Ohio Pork Congress. Targeting Excellence will be hosting its first fundraiser in the state of Ohio during 2016. This will create scholarship opportunities in 2017 for college students in Ohio who are majoring in food animal agriculture related degrees.
Targeting Excellence is now accepting applications for the 2016 scholarship awards. Scholarships will be awarded to both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an agricultural curriculum at an institution that offers degrees in agriculture. A total of $120,000 will be awarded in 2016 from the applications that are submitted.
Targeting Excellence is excited about the possibilities we have for 2016. Let’s turn those possibilities into reality, but we need your help to do so! For 2016 the Board of Directors has challenged everyone in the Targeting Excellence organization with a goal of raising funds to provide $165,000 for scholarships in 2017.
The Targeting Excellence Board of Directors approved awarding $120,000 for 2016 scholarships during their meeting on December 23, 2015.
