2017 Scholarship Recipient - Undergraduate Award (Ohio)

Thank you for your continued support of the agricultural industry. I would like to personally express my gratitude for the wonderful contribution towards my education through a scholarship. I am extremely honored to have been chosen for this wonderful gift that will help me pursue my dream of becoming a food animal reproductive veterinarian. This program is a fantastic opportunity for companies to not only invest in the future of agriculture, but also get to know some of the students through the wonderfully ran shooting events. One day in the near future, I plan on paying this generous deed forward to the next generation of agricultural enthusiasts! Thank you again for investing in my future, your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Career Goals: Had I been asked what I wanted to do after school when I was a freshman in college, I would have replied that I was unsure, but I would find something. Today, that response has become much more precise. This past summer I decided that I could no longer settle for trying to find something to satisfy my personality for the rest of my life. I had always dreamed of being a large animal veterinarian, but was able to talk myself out of this particular occupation due to school requirements. After working with Trans Ova Genetics this past summer, I decided that my dream job was not looking though a microscope as an embryologist, but rather being the veterinarian that pulls out the embryos and implants them into recipients. About halfway through the summer is when I came to the realization that I had found my purpose in life. A bovine reproductive veterinarian technician is the prize that I have my heart set on. I want to have a vital part in improving the cattle industry and working with the best of the best to figure out the appropriate way to produce more beef and dairy products with fewer resources.
