Targeting Excellence formed an Iowa committee in 2015 making it the 4th state to join the organization. The first Iowa fundraiser was held in 2015 and students scholarships have been awarded in the state since that time.
The Iowa Committee is comprised of individuals from food production systems, allied industries, and university professors all volunteering their time and resources to raise these funds from national and regional partners. All money raised in the state of Iowa will stay in the state for scholarships for Iowa students. Attracting the brightest and most motivated students, allowing them to have face-to-face time with future employers, and allowing them to graduate without a heavy debt load will not only be good for the students, but will also make our future industry stronger. More face-to-face time among the leaders of agribusiness, production systems and agricultural colleges can also lead to new alliances to ensure the survival of our industry.

The supporters of Targeting Excellence recognize that achieving success in life is not a solo act - it takes the emotional, physical, financial and sometimes spiritual support from a cast of others. Students need to know that there are successful people in our industry who are willing and able to be their supporting cast.
