College bound and current undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary students enrolled in a food animal agriculture curriculum at an institution that offers degrees in agriculture may apply for $177,000 in scholarships available from Targeting Excellence.
In May 2016, at the end of the 2016 spring semester, Targeting Excellence awarded $123,000 in combined scholarships to 58 students. The scholarships were awarded to students enrolled in two-year, four-year, graduate and veterinary programs with a focus on food animal agriculture.
Last month Targeting Excellence hosted a Pizza night to honor the 2015 North Carolina scholarship winners. The event was held at Amadeo’s Pizza in Raleigh, NC. The Targeting Excellence Scholarship Review Committee has been working hard over the last few weeks to review all the applications we received for the 2016 awards. We were initially scheduled to contact the winners today, however, due to the high number of qualified applicants we need a few more days to finalize our selections. We now plan to notify the winners on May 16th, 2016.
The Targeting Excellence Board of Directors approved awarding $120,000 for 2016 scholarships during their meeting on December 23, 2015. The organization will start accepting applications on January 15, 2016. More details on the application process will follow shortly. Thank you to all the 2015 sponsors who made this possible.
