“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for believing in me and giving me this great resource that will help me succeed in my future life endeavors. It is because of organizations and people like you that make it possible for students like me to not only attend college but to also do it with a little less stress. I can’t wait to utilize the knowledge that I am gaining right now and use it to make my mark on the agricultural world.”

Hometown: Mount Olive, NC

School: University of Mount Olive

Major / Species: Agribusiness

Career Goals:   After I graduate from the University of Mount Olive with a degree in Agricultural Business, I hope to pursue a career in the fields of agricultural management or sales. I have become interested in the management field, possibly as a project manager with a hog, chicken, or turkey house construction company. Being a project manager would be challenging and give me an opportunity to be a part of helping with the expansion of  agriculture and food animal production. In regards to sales, besides doing the obvious of selling equipment, pesticides, feed, or some other type of agricultural related product to farmers and animal production operations, I want to be a source of information, encouragement, and support to these farmers. By finding a career in one of these two fields, I hope to help farmers, whether they are growing hogs, cattle, crops, or other agricultural products. I also hope that my contributions to these operations will have a much further reaching impact to the farmers, their families, and the world around us. I grew up showing livestock through 4-H, and I never would have been able to do so without the aid of others’ support and knowledge. By helping farmers and other people in the agricultural community, I hope that I will help bring others, like myself, the same opportunities I was provided. I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for me in the world of agriculture and food animal production. Not only will I have the chance to learn and expand my skills, but I’ll also be able to play a big part in providing for the needs of a hungry world.
