I am extremely humbled and honored to be chosen for a 2020 Targeting Excellence Scholarship. The funds will be going directly towards my degree in agriculture. It gives me a great sense of reassurance knowing there are organizations like this one out there that are investing in the next generation. Thank you for supporting youth who have a passion for agriculture and food production.

Career Goals:

Growing up on a small farm with crops, dairy, beef, goats, and chickens sparked my interest in agriculture at an early age. Being involved in youth programs such as 4-H, FFA, and multiple dairy breed organizations aided in increasing my knowledge and curiosity about agriculture and food animal industries. I am extremely fortunate for these programs that influenced me and allowed me to determine my intended major when enrolling in college. As an animal science student, I am constantly searching for new experiences and opportunities to expand my knowledge about the food animal industry. This summer I will be completing an internship with the Center for Dairy Excellence as their Dairy Education/Communications intern. I hope to use this opportunity to explore my interests of educating others about agriculture and being an advocate for the dairy industry. Upon graduation, I would like to pursue a career in the dairy industry, educating consumers that their food comes from a good place. After gaining first hand experience in the industry, I would like to go back to school to obtain my teaching certificate, so I can be involved in the FFA program and teach agriculture classes on the high school level. This would allow me to impact students and give back to the programs who helped shape me into the person I am today.
