Major / Species: Livestock Science and Management

Career Goals:

Until eight years ago I had no idea how much I would fall in love with agriculture. I now see myself as a person devoted to the agriculture world. I see a few possible job ventures which could be veterinarian, a teacher in the field of choice or a person devoted to the Pa. Department of Agriculture in the Division of Beef Excellence.

4-H is a great learning experience. This experience taught me the meaning of hard work and dedication. During this period I was able to get a dairy beef and show it in local competition. When my steer was about four weeks old we found out he had a hernia, I was fortunate to be able to assist a local veterinarian in the medical procedure, this sparked an interest in large animal studies.

All the knowledge I am acquiring on a daily basis is going to help in my near future. This love for agriculture has already got me into DelVal, where I am planning on fmishing my degree and possibly joining the Pa. Dept. of Agriculture, or becoming a teacher and working with the Penn State extension office.

I am attending DelVal University and have completed an internship in the Center of Beef Excellence Office located in the Pa. Department of Agriculture. I am also planning to start my own farm in the future and start my own cattle program.
