Thank you to the Targeting Excellence sponsors, board, and committee members for your generous contributions to support my education.
Working hard is essential to everything I do, rooted in my rural Iowa upbringing. I have balanced my involvement in the showring, including involvement in 4-H and FFA. I manage our barn including doing chores twice a day and working with the livestock I show at jackpot, state and national livestock shows. While it is hard work to show, do chores and spend hours in my barn to break, train and prepare my livestock for shows?it is rewarding. Animal agriculture is my passion— how I hope to spend my life and earn my living. Currently, I am finishing my freshman year at Iowa State University with a major in Agricultural Studies, and minors in Public Relations and Learning Leadership Sciences. Following graduation, I aspire to work for a feed company, feed ingredient company, or agricultural cooperative as an agricultural marketing and communications professional. I like to write, so telling the story of farm to table is something I will be proud to do. Being part of animal agriculture defines who I am and where I want to go in my career and life.
