To all Targeting Excellence Sponsors, Board Members and Committee personnel, thank you for your time and dedication to this program! Your efforts to support students in agriculture is sincerely appreciated and I am personally grateful! Thank You!
I am currently pursuing a career involved in the livestock production industry. I grew up on my families third generation farm and have had the privilege of working first hand with cattle, swine and poultry. My passion is in the agricultural industry and livestock production is in my blood. Being involved in this field is a lifestyle, and it is one that I cherish. I would not be the person I am today without the influence I have received from countless agricultural associations, friends and family. I hope either return to my family’s farm where I can then play an influential role in the business, or obtain a position elsewhere in the livestock production industry. With only being in my freshman year of college at Penn State, I am still narrowing my interests to find a minor and obtain further industry experience. I have chosen to pursue a major in Animal Science because through my years of experience, I have discovered that livestock production is what I am truly passionate about. There is nothing I love more than going out to the barn to work with the cattle, hogs and their offspring. I love watching them grow and feeling a sense of accomplishment. I can say that through my hard work, I have been able to produce a product that helps to feed the world. As a young girl, I was constantly told to find what I’m good at and then follow my heart; the rest will fall into place. That is why I have chosen to have a career involved in livestock production.
