Dear Sponsors, Board, and Committees,

I would like to wholeheartedly thank you for your generosity and contributions to agriculturalists such as myself. This industry has given so much to myself, and I hope to someday give back in a similar way. With the help of this scholarship, I am able to prioritize my studies while allocating time and effort into my animal ventures. I am looking forward to graduating this coming December and putting forth the information learned to better agricultural communities throughout the nation.

Thank you again for your gratitude,
Isabelle Lindahl

Career Goals:

Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota, I plan on seeking a career in agricultural lending. This career goal has been consecrated by my positive experience as CoBank’s Regional Agribusiness Credit Intern over the past summer. In becoming a Credit Analyst, I would be able to help farmers and other agriculturalists to fulfill their lending and financial needs. Providing credit to farmers ensures the viability of agricultural industries for years in the future. My experiences being born and raised on a dairy farm have shown me how capital-intensive agriculture is, and the importance of having readily available credit. Being that I hope to continue a hobby livestock operation on the side of my agricultural lending occupation, I will be able to relate to my customers and build lasting relations in this career path. After a few years as a Credit Analyst, I hope to gain the knowledge and experience needed to become a Senior Credit Analyst, taking on greater responsibility through my loan portfolio. Ultimately, I hope to go back to school while working to receive an MBA from a well-known program such as the one that the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management offers. Gaining years of experience in the field will help my schoolwork as I am able to apply real-life exposure to classroom concepts. Eventually, I hope to make my way into a dairy specialist position in the credit underwriting industry. All the while I am completing my career goals, I intend on building my brand as an elite show lamb and mini Hereford breeder at home. I have started on a flock of club lambs this past May, and am partaking in activities to establish my name in the show industry. These efforts will enable me to maintain my direct ties to agriculture while being able to give back to 4-H and FFA youth participating in the livestock industry.
