Career Goals:

After completing my education at Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), I have a few career pathways I wish to pursue. The main pathway I plan to pursue includes implementing the knowledge I gain from FVTC to serve as the second generation of the family farm. Our family farm has been in operation since the early ’90s and has developed substantially since then. In fact, the family farm became certified organic in the year 2000. Having grown up on a farm, I developed a strong passion for agronomy, livestock, and the organic industry. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the livestock grazing the pastures or seeing the crops dance with the wind. Growing up directly involved in the dairy industry has taught me how to love, which is why this career pathway has been a long-time dream of mine.

My second career path includes becoming an agronomist and/or ruminant nutritionist. This career path proceeds my first career goal as a safety net in case the family farm was not to be transitioned to the second generation. Being able to help another farmer succeed would mean the world to me. Having grown and developed so many connections throughout the wholesale industry, I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. Helping farmers produce the highest quality products for consumers is the perfect working environment for myself.

While I plan to work on the family farm during the college semester, in the summer of 2019 I’m serving as a candidate for Wisconsin State FFA Office. I chose to run for office because of my strong passion for FFA, agriculture education, service, and networking. Besides this, I have set a goal to serve in an agronomy-related internship before completing my Agronomy associate’s degree at Fox Valley Technical College in May 2021. Overall, I’m striving to prepare myself for all my career pathways, in order to be a key part of the agriculture industry throughout my future endeavors.
