Katie Sondericker

Growing up as the fifth generation on my family’s 500 cow dairy farm has fueled my passion for working with food animals. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with a minor in Poultry and Avian Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, I hope to attend veterinary school to obtain a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree along with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. My career goal is to become a food animal veterinarian with a specialization in public health. I would like to work for a government agency, such as FSIS or APHIS. I am passionate about ensuring that our nation’s food supply is safe and wholesome. As a food animal veterinarian, I would be able to ensure that the animals going into our food supply are healthy and prevent the spread zoonotic diseases from food to people.
