I’m very grateful for this scholarship. I’d like to thank the TE Sponsors, Board, and Committees and everyone who has contributed to funding these scholarships. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. This scholarship will assist me in paying for my education. I cannot wait to earn my degree and enter the Animal Nutrition profession. I plan on helping farmers all over raise safe and healthy animals that will be used as food products. I sincerely thank you for awarding me this scholarship.
I was one of those kids who always wanted to be around animals. I was fortunate enough to receive an internship during my senior year of high school at a local pig farm. This internship sparked my passion for the swine industry and the food animal industry. I learned many techniques and skills during the internship. I was able to personally take part in the process of the production of swine that will be on someone?s dinner plate. I am a student at North Carolina State University studying Animal Science. After taking an Animal Nutrition course, I developed an interest in Animal Nutrition. I have found a connection between my desire to work in the Swine Industry and my enthusiasm for Animal Nutrition. Animal Nutrition is a career that has the best of both worlds. Animal Nutrition is not only beneficial to the animal but also to the consumer. My goal is to one day be able to produce swine that yields the best quality of meat for the consumer.
