Thank you so much for selecting me as a scholarship recipient. Your support of the next generation provides stability of the future agriculture industry. It is because of scholarships like yours that make it possible for me and my peers to continue to study agriculture. Thanks again to all those involved!!
From my younger years of growing up on an independent farrow-to-finish hog and cattle feedlot farm, I plan to stay in the livestock industry. This summer I have a fellowship with North Carolina State focusing on data driven analytics in global pork production. After my senior year at The Pennsylvania State University studying Animal Science with minors in International Agriculture and Agribusiness Management, I plan on continuing my education from the summer and undergraduate degree by attending a graduate school focusing on bio-security practices in international hog systems or receiving my international marketing certificate. I would like to stay in the livestock industry working with international systems. If at all possible, I would like to eventually partner with my family on the farm that I grew up on.For the short-term I plan to graduate from the Pennsylvania State University with a major in Animal Science (Business) and a dual minor in International Agriculture and Agribusiness Management. Currently, I plan to continue my education in grad school focusing on livestock production and how infectious diseases are transported between countries while specifically studying the bio-security measures that travelers and border control practice. Due to my international experience and my knowledge of livestock production, my goal is to keep herds safe from infectious diseases that might threaten how food animal production thrives.
