Thank you to all of the Targeting Excellence sponsors and scholarship board and committees that advocated for me this year! I am of great honor to receive PA’s undergraduate degree again this year. Originally growing up in the horse industry, Penn State has introduced me to the poultry industry, which I have grown to love. Within the industry, I have become the president of Penn State’s Poultry Science Club, a poultry/swine sales internship this summer with Wenger Feeds, and have become very active with industry professionals. I am very excited to continue my journey within the poultry and agricultural industry, and this scholarship will make that process easier. Thank you!

Career Goals:

I was so ecstatic when I got accepted to The Pennsylvania State University as an animal science major in 2020. I knew this was the first step into starting my life and developing a career that I love. I have since changed my major to agricultural science in order to get a broader education on the industry I am so passionate about. I want to know it all. Within my major I am able to explore various aspects of the agricultural industry, including crop management, animal science, agribusiness management, horticulture, technology in agriculture, leadership, and so much more. I fell in love with the major and everything I was learning about within my first semester. I recently have found somethings I am extremely passionate about and decided to add three minors to my education: poultry and avian science, food systems, and agribusiness management. I hope to incorporate my passion with these three subjects into a career in the future. My goal is to make the industry at least a little bit better than before I had joined it. I am not sure exactly what career choice I want to take on yet, so I am keeping an open mind as I continue with this major. As of right now, I have become fond of sales/marketing, recruitment, leadership, and advertising, so I hope to incorporate these topics into a career at some point. My expected graduation date is May of 2025, so I have some time to figure out my in-depth interests and skills within agricultural science.
