Tyler McDuffie

Hometown: Biscoe, NC

School: North Carolina State University

Major / Species: Agribusiness Management and Livestock and Poultry Management

Career Goals:   Agriculture; it is life and it is how you survive, it is sometimes how you was brought up, its my life.  Where would the world be if we didn’t have farms and farmers?  I am a farmer. I understand the ups and downs of agriculture. It is in my blood and how I was raised. Working in different aspects of agriculture like N.G Purvis Farms and volunteering on Phantom Follies Farm I learned different aspects of the agriculture industry. One day I want to show the community that. I am double majoring in Agribusiness Management and Livestock and Poultry Management at NC State and the professors are amazing. They get you in the field and they push you to do farming the right way. After I graduate from the 2 year program I would like to go back to school and pursue a education in  Swine Genetics. Maybe someday go to different farms and help them improve and manage their livestock and have a farm of my own.  I would like to improve the future agriculture and show the community around us just how important farming  is.  I want to get other involved and show them its more than what you see. Your can’t judge a book by its cover. I want to help young adults get involved in farming and show them the importance of agriculture. It is all about the future.
